Why Donate to the Limbless Association?

Donate Image

The Limbless Association’s programs have helped many amputees all over the UK in many aspects of their lives. We receive requests for Volunteer Visitors from all over the country.

This program is invaluable to the UK’s 130,000 amputees. We pay for the travel expenses of our VV’s and we do not charge people to cover the costs of these visits.

We need funding to cover these vital programs. A donation from you can help us to achieve this and regular donations can help us to plan for the future and ensure our services will always be free.

You can make single or regular donations for any amount by clicking on the Donate Now button at the top of this page.

Just £5 a month can help to cover the travelling costs of a Volunteer Visitor who may need to visit a prospective or new amputee at their home or in hospital to provide much-needed help and support.

Regular gifts are extremely important to the Limbless Association as they allow us to plan ahead and ensure that we can continue our vital work. By setting up a regular gift by Direct Debit or online payment, we will be able to continue our work locating and assisting amputees who may otherwise be unaware of our services.

We have many plans in the pipeline to support all limbless people. One way of doing this is to set up and run an Annual Conference for User Groups ensuring that they have all the knowledge they need to run their Groups for the benefit of their local users. We also aim to build on our ‘lobbying’ abilities when we have a true understanding of the problems that the different Groups face with service provision.

Thank you for your support!

JustTextGiving

JustTextGiving is an exciting partnership between Vodafone and JustGiving, and is supported by The Vodafone Foundation.  Click here to see a short video.

The service allows anyone using a mobile phone (on any phone network) to donate up to £10 to a charity of their choice through the use of a unique donation code. Their donation is then collected as either a mobile phone credit or via the monthly phone bill.  100% of the donation will be given to charity. The cost of the text message is free and there is also an option to include Gift Aid  - an extra 25% of th value of the donation will be given to the charity for free.

How can you donate?

Donating to the Limbless Association through JustTextGiving is quick and easy.

The following donations can be made : £1, £2, £3, £4, £5, and £10.

To donate, send a text using the Limbless Association unique code limb00 plus your donation amount to 70070.

For example, to donate £1 to the Limbless Association, just text limb00 £1 to 70070.

You will then be given the option to add Gift Aid,( an additional 25% of your donation at no extra cost to you).

Gift Aid

Make your donation worth at least 25% more.

If you pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax your donations can be worth at least 25% more to the Limbless Association – at no extra cost to you.  We can reclaim the tax on all of your future donations and those made by you in the past six years if you notify us that you are a UK taxpayer. We can continue to reclaim Gift Aid until you notify us that you no longer pay any tax in the UK.

It does not matter what rate of tax you pay, as long as it is equal to the tax we reclaim on your donation. This will not affect your tax status at the end of the year or cost you an extra penny, as Gift Aid allows the charity to reclaim the tax you have already paid on your income (and/or interest) as you have now donated this money to charity, so it is a tax-free amount.

Fact: Around £750million goes unclaimed because donors forget to sign a Gift Aid declaration. This money can make a vital difference to charities during a recession.

Please download, print, sign and return the Gift Aid Declaration Form below:

BT MyDonate

MyDonate is the first no fee, no commission online fundraising service in the UK. Charities will receive every penny of the money you raise, (with Gift Aid if applicable), and no fees (except charges levied by the donators own credit/debit card company) will be deducted. This means that the Limbless Association will receive up to 50p more for every £10 donated (excluding Gift Aid) through MyDonate when compared with other online fundraising services.

How to use MyDonate?

Fundraisers – if you are planning to do something to raise funds for charity, maybe you are going to run a 10k for example, MyDonate is there to manage all your fundraising. It works just like other sites – you can set up a fundraising page that is personal to you and send out a link to all your contacts.

Sponsors – if you know someone who is fundraising and has set up a MyDonate page, you can send your sponsorship through the system (and if they are not using MyDonate why not ask them to consider it so the charity can receive your donation completely free of fees).

Donors – if you just want to donate to the Limbless Association, you can do just that with any amount from £2 upwards.

How can i use it?

Just go to the MyDonate home page and use one of the buttons where you can set up a fundraising page or donate directly to the Limbless Association or sponsor somebody doing a fundraising event for us.
