Fitness and Exercise for all amputees

This section is for any amputee upper or lower limb of any age.

Fitness for Adults and Seniors

Available Saturdays mornings 11.00 AM – Midday at Feltham Community College, Feltham.

The session is adaptable to suit the needs of the individual and, for lower limb amputees, involves gentle stretches and slow walking to get used to wearing your limb or, if you do not wear a limb, you can use crutches or a wheelchair.  There is the option of faster movements (for example jogging) for those that can so that everyone can go at their own pace and do the exercises they want to do.  The session is currently attended by two upper limb amputees who turn up most weeks and the session works well for them.

The sessions are about getting together and helping each other keep fit in a comfortable environment.  It is also a great opportunity to meet other amputees and to make new friends and do social events with other User Groups.

Amputee Football for Adults and Seniors

Available Saturdays mornings Midday – 1.00 PM at Feltham Community College, Feltham.

There is also the opportunity to take part in an amputee football session that takes place every Saturday between midday and 1.00 PM after the amputee fitness session. The session provides an ideal chance to come and play football with other amputees and there is a pathway to play for the Great Britain Amputee football team.  We also play regular matches in the Middlesex FA Disability League as well as other matches against other disabled teams.

The sessions are about getting together and helping each other keep fit in a comfortable environment.  It is also a great opportunity to meet other amputees and to make new friends and do social events with other User Groups.
