Personal Independence Payment – consultation

21st June 2012

This is a reminder that the third public consultation exercise for the proposed Personal Independence Payment (PIP) closes on 30 June 2012.  This consultation focuses on the detailed design of the reform that will go towards the development of secondary legislation.

The consultation document can be found here (the original notification posted in April).  This includes a total of 28 questions posed by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) on:

  • eligibility;
  • payability of benefit;
  • reassessing existing Disability Living Allowance claims;
  • residence and past presence tests; and
  • impact assessment.

The Limbless Association has been attending PIP Implementation Development Group meetings and workshops at which these topics have been discussed. We will be submitting a response on the points where we feel that further work is required.
